Mirror Lake Loop Trail, Yosemite National Park
Total distance walked: 6 miles
On the eve of New Year’s Eve, Chris and I enjoyed a hike in Yosemite National Park with visiting friends.

The park was alive with activity, reminiscent of a summer day: parking lots were packed, buses were standing room only, trails were bustling with hikers, and there was a forty-minute wait for lunch at the Ahwahnee bar.

None of that deterred us from savoring the beautiful surroundings as we navigated the icy trail, trekked through shallow snow, and circled the frigid Mirror Lake.

Hiking in Yosemite was the ideal way to wrap up a stressful year.

Happy New Year!
Nice! I had forgotten all about this hike. You weren’t kidding, the trail really was frozen.
